It’s World Metrology Day today

World Metrology Day is being celebrated in Bangladesh on Monday, May 20, like other countries of the world under the theme 'Today's measurement for building a sustainable future'. On the occasion of the day, President Md. Sahabuddin, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry Zakia Sultana gave separate messages.

On the occasion of the day, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) as the national standards organization has undertaken various programs on Monday. In addition to BSTI's head office, the divisional and district offices have also taken up promotional activities including discussion meetings. Arrangements have been made to broadcast special interview-based discussion programs on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar.

Arrangements have been made to send SMS to mobile phones. Apart from this, banners, festoons, placards have been put up at various important places in the capital and divisional and district cities.

Besides, a discussion meeting will be held at the head office of BSTI on the occasion of the day. Industry Minister will be present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Mahbubul Alam, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and President of FBCCI will be present as a special guest. BSTI director general SM Ferdous Alam will preside over the discussion meeting.
